Who it suits
The 80 Explorer is a different proposition from everything else Sialia builds. At 26.6 metres with an 8.5-metre beam, an aluminium hull developed with Dutch naval architects Vripack, four guest cabins plus two crew berths and a master with direct beach-club access, it is a long-range explorer rather than a fast toy. The 11-knot maximum is not a limitation but the entire design premise: displacement speed is what makes a claimed 3,000-nautical-mile range arithmetically possible. It suits an owner planning genuine passages and extended time at anchor, and nobody who wants to arrive quickly.
Reading the range claim
Twin 400 kW motors and an 800 kWh battery cannot deliver 3,000 nautical miles alone, and the yard does not pretend otherwise: two variable-RPM range extenders provide both redundancy and the distance. In practice this is a diesel-electric explorer with substantial battery capability for silent running and hotel load, which is an honest and sensible architecture — but the marketing shorthand of an "electric" 3,000-mile yacht deserves that footnote.
The larger caveat is maturity. This is the yard's flagship and its least proven model, from a builder whose track record is in 17-metre performance boats. No price is published. Ask directly about hull status, build slot and yard capacity for a vessel of this size.
