What a buyer should know
A hosting platform first
The EZ 28 is best understood as deck space rather than as a fast boat. Twelve passengers, folding topsides opening to 17 sqm, a wet bar, grill, WC and stern shower on an 8.67 m hull is a genuinely unusual combination, and the six configuration scenarios reflect a yard selling flexibility rather than a single mission. For a charter operator working in noise-restricted waters, or an owner whose boating is mostly entertaining at anchor and short hops, that adds up.
It is not a boat for covering distance briskly, and buyers shopping on speed should look elsewhere.
The number to ask for
Crooze does not publish a battery capacity, and without it the quoted 120 nm cannot be extrapolated. That figure is stated at five knots — a displacement crawl — and tells you nothing about range at twenty. With a 207 kW standard motor (270 kW optional), the gap between those two numbers will be very large. Ask for the pack size and a stated range at cruising speed before signing.
At €269,000 the pricing is competitive on usable space per euro against the Frauscher x Porsche 850 at roughly twice the money, and undercuts the Candela C-8. The counterweight is that this is a young Bulgarian yard: check build slot, warranty terms and who services the boat in your country.
Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
