Our take

What a buyer should know

Reading the numbers

The AX/E 25 pairs a 126 kWh battery with a 225 kW Evoy Storm outboard, and the two published performance figures — 50 knots and 60 nautical miles — belong to opposite ends of the throttle. At anything near nominal power, 126 kWh is roughly half an hour of running; the 60 nm range is plainly an economical-cruise figure. That is not a criticism so much as the defining fact of the boat: it is a fast day boat with a large reserve for slow work, and an owner who spends most of the day at displacement speed with occasional bursts will get on with it well. Anyone planning regular high-speed coastal transits will not.

Who it suits, and the price

It makes most sense for an owner with a home berth and a decent shore connection, cruising an archipelago or a lake, who wants the Axopar hull and finish without the noise. The single cabin and two berths make overnighting possible rather than comfortable.

At €229,000 the electric premium over a comparable combustion Axopar is substantial, and buyers should price that gap honestly against their annual fuel spend. Note too that Axopar's main business is petrol and diesel boats; AX/E is a dedicated sub-brand, so ask specific questions about dealer training and battery servicing in your market.
